Style Me Pretty Wedding Feature

We are extremely excited, and flattered, to have one of our weddings featured on Style Me Pretty today.  Kat & Matt were such a great couple to work with; super cool and relaxed with impeccable style...it really shows in their wedding photos!

OC Brideworld Bridal Expo 6-10-12

We spent last Sunday with hundreds of excited brides-to-be (and a few grooms-to-be) at the Brideworld Bridal Expo at the Orange County Fair & Event Center.  The brides were treated to a display of a pink, orange, purple and light green color scheme within our floral arrangements and linen/rental choices.

The sweetheart table display at our booth showed a light green (celadon) tablecloth with black chiavari chairs, silver chargers with black napkins and included a box floral arrangement of Peonies, Hydrangea & Roses as well as 2 beautiful bouquets, one simple & elegant (Mango Calla Lilies) and the other a bit more vintage with some "bling" (Hydrangea, Peonies, Succulents, Orchids & Dusty Miller).  We also showcased the same color/flower scheme in our 2 larger centerpiece mockups; 1 was a round topper to a trumpet vase (Hydrangea, Peonies & Roses), crystals in the bottom of the vase and was sat atop a mirrored platform box; the other was geared towards our Asian clients utilizing a lazy susan for their dinner reception and utilized an eiffel tower vase with a round topper (Hydrangea, Roses & Dahlias). We also had a collection of smaller, low arrangements that can be interchanged with the tall arrangements or clustered together for a more voluminous centerpiece.

The sweetheart display over at the Classic Party Rentals embraced the tangerine/oranges with some pops of white & green.  We also went a bit more "organic" by including some small Succulents amongst the Hydrangea, Dahlias & Spray Roses in the 2 small square arrangements. We finished the look off with a 3-tiered floating candle display between the 2 arrangements.

We enjoyed meeting and getting to know all the brides and hope our design, color and floral ideas inspired everyone as much as we enjoyed creating them!

Grace + Cyrus 6-2-12 at the Riviera Resort in Palm Springs

We had the pleasure of being a big part of Grace & Cyrus' wedding this past Saturday at the Riviera Resort in Palm Springs.  Christine was the Ceremony Officiant, we provided the Flowers for the wedding and Christine, Amber & Corina coordinated the day's activities.  We can't thank the staff and Patty Gleeson at the Riviera enough for all of their hard work in the super hot temperatures this weekend.  The couple and all of their guests, most from Europe (Italy) had a great time at this travel-themed wedding in the desert.  The mother of the bride & her family hand-filled homemade cannolis on site during the reception for guests to enjoy along with the platters and more platters of yummy Italian cookies and a cute display of cupcakes & Bride/Groom Airplane-topped cake.
Here is a sneak peek at some of photos from our cameras....professional photos to come soon!

Elizabeth + Juan 5-19-12

We had a ton of fun coordinating Elizabeth and Juan’s wedding in Tujunga on 5/19/12. Her plum and lavender color scheme worked beautifully with the ballroom up lighting, the family style meal service and sweets station were a huge hit with her guests and the live Mariachi band helped get the party started!

Congratulations to the beautiful couple!

Westin Tabletop Installation

Today we setup a gorgeous 4-top table in the Sales & Catering office at the Westin in Pasadena.  It is a regal display of various shades of purple offset by the black chiavari chairs and the metallic sheen of the silver tablecloth. Soft, sophisticated and modern are all great descriptions of this display.

It will be in their offices until Monday morning so if you are looking for a wedding venue stop by and check them/our work out!

The Waterfront Venue You Shouldn’t Overlook

Last week we attended a mixer at the new Hyatt The Pike in Long Beach. This venue, formerly The Avia Hotel, was only built 3 years ago so its fame is still growing. It’s a relatively small venue, for events with less than 150 guests, but we were blown away at the details put into every square inch.

This boutique hotel offers clean, contemporary lines and colors, an outside patio perfect for a reception, and a gorgeous rooftop pool perfect for cocktail hour overlooking the port.  It’s worth your time to stop by!

TEXTURE! and Dress Types for Body Types

As I thumb through the Summer 2011 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine I cant help but notice all the texture in the bridal gown ads.  I predicted this late last year as the trend for this year's weddings and sure enough, I was right :)  The adding of these details to wedding gowns brings the whole "vintage" feel, sometimes with a modern twist, for the bride of the 21st century.  Taking the best of the past and pairing with the present dress structures will flatter any body type.

Don't like your arms (like most women) then look for a dress with small cap sleeves (see the 2nd gown from Lhuillier below) or wear a cute bolero to match your dress.  Want to accentuate your curves? Opt for an update to the mermaid-style dress with a Trumpeted gown (see 1st gown from Lhuillier below) that flares about mid-thigh so you can easily dance at your reception.  Pear-shaped?  Go for a fitted waistline with a flared skirt like the 2nd gown from Christos below.

From Monique Lhuillier to Christos to Jim Hjelm, texture is everywhere!  The Lhuillier ads show a lot of lace detailing, which I LOVE, and amazing texture with rhinestone appliques!  The 2 dresses below are my favorites...

Christos shows delicate appliques and lace texture too...see my favorites from their ad campaign below:

Jim Hjelm using texture in the skirting details paired with a simple bodice for those that want a little bit of both...
