Like a Fairytale Wedding

As we've been going through the countless images already released about this morning's Royal Wedding, we've been getting a little teary!

Starting with the To-Be's historic drive to Westminster Abbey, to each of their grand entrances into the cathedral, Kate's walk down the aisle, and the moment when Prince William turned to her and said "You look beautiful," we've turned to mush.

There's something to be said about the sense of tradition, the pomp and circumstance, and the witnessing of such a historical moment, that we can allow our typically cynical selves to get caught up in the whirlwind.

But what we really want to talk about here, let's be frank, is the dress and the hair.

As a salon, we're all in agreement that Kate fit her role perfectly as a princess on her wedding day. Her Alexander McQueen dress, designed by Sarah Burton, was beautiful. Traditional and reserved, it was elegant, magnificently tailored and will be timeless.

James Pryce and Richard Ward of London's Richard Ward Salon were the masterminds behind Kate's "demi-chignon". Their super secret trial sessions had to keep in mind the princess' borrowed Cartier tiara from Queen Elizabeth II.

Royal Wedding Rewind

We've been trying to hide it. But we can't help it. We'll admit it. We've got Royal Wedding Fever. (Especially one stylist who will remain nameless in this post. Hint: rhymes with Ally Artin)

As a little teaser for tomorrow's big day, we decided to take a walk down memory lane with some photos of Royal Weddings past.

Prince and Princess of Wales, Charles and Diana
The Queen Mum and King George VI

Floriferous

Since it's Earth Day today (and it's starting to feel a little bit like SPRING finally!), we thought it'd be a great idea to post some of the photos taken of the gorgeous bouquets Sarah Bedford of floriferous made for our Bridal Event last month.

Her flowers made a huge impact and really helped transform our space.

You Should Meet Our Friends!

We don't like to be cocky, but frankly, we do great hair. Not only are we constantly inspired by each other here in the salon, but by our friends in the neighborhood as well. Some of our pals are doing really great things, and we think you should check them out.

Click on our Links page, and meet some local Brooklynites who have become our partners in crime (and weddings!).
